Job Description:
The Stock Officer is responsible for managing and organizing inventory, ensuring that the store’s stock is well-maintained, properly stored, and readily available for customers. This role supports the efficient operation of the store by ensuring optimal stock levels, accurate product handling, and smooth stock replenishment processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor daily stock levels and assist in conducting regular stock counts.
- Ensure that stock is organized, easy to locate, and in good condition.
- Track product movement, report any discrepancies, and maintain accurate stock records.
- Receive deliveries and verify quantities and quality against delivery notes.
- Ensure all items are safely stored in designated areas, following proper storage procedures.
- Record and label stock appropriately for easy identification and retrieval.
- Maintain sales floor stock levels by regularly replenishing shelves and displays.
- Rotate stock to ensure older items are sold first (FIFO: First In, First Out).
- Monitor fast-selling products and ensure timely reordering.
- Assist in arranging products on shelves, ensuring items are presented attractively and logically.
- Ensure proper tagging, pricing, and signage are in place for all products.
- Assist in stock audits and ensure inventory accuracy.
- Report discrepancies, damages, or any other stock-related issues to the management team.
- Help in stock forecasting and placing orders to maintain adequate stock levels.
- Work closely with the store team, particularly the Sales Associates, to ensure stock is efficiently managed and replenished.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to achieving the store’s operational goals.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or any related field.
- Previous experience in stock management or retail operations is desirable.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to lift and move heavy stock when required.
- Basic computer literacy and experience with inventory management software is a plus.
- Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team.
