Job Description:
An inventory analyst play a crucial role in managing and optimizing the company’s inventory levels. These includes monitoring stock levels, forecasting demand, analysing sales trends, identifying potential shortages or excesses, and implementing strategies to ensure efficient
Inventory management. They monitor performance, identify trends, and forecast demand in order to communicate with suppliers, vendors, and internal departments for timely and accurate delivery of goods.
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring inventory levels: The Inventory Analyst must keep track of the quantity of products available in the store and ensure that the levels are adequate to meet customer demand.
- Ordering products: When inventory levels fall below a certain threshold, the inventory officer must place orders with suppliers to replenish the stock.
- Receiving shipments: The inventory officer must receive and inspect shipments of products to ensure that they are in good condition and that the correct quantities have been received.
- Stocking shelves: Once new products have been received, the inventory officer must ensure that they are properly stored and displayed on shelves.
- Conducting inventory audits: The inventory officer must conduct periodic audits of the inventory to ensure that it is accurate and up-to-date.
- Analyzing sales data: The Inventory Analyst must analyze sales data to determine which products are selling well and which are not, and adjust inventory levels accordingly.
- Managing returns and exchanges: The Inventory Analyst must handle returns and exchanges of products, and ensure that the inventory is updated accordingly.
- Maintaining inventory records: The Inventory Analyst must keep accurate records of all inventory transactions, including purchases, sales, and returns.
- Communicating with other staff: The Inventory Analyst must work closely with other staff members, such as sales associates and managers, to ensure that inventory levels are optimized to meet customer demand.
- Ensuring compliance: The Inventory Analyst must ensure that all inventory-related activities comply with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations.
Requirements:
- Minimal work experience as an Inventory Analyst or similar role in a retail/sales department
- Excellent math and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work extended hours
- Strong organisational skills
- Proficiency in relevant software and systems
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Common vehicle driver’s license and/ or forklift experience beneficial
