Job Description:
Responsible for providing friendly and efficient checkout service to customer, ensuring their final interaction in the store is positive one, this role involves managing financial transaction handling multiple payment methods and providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service: Greet customers with a friendly and welcoming attitude. Answer customer inquiries and assist with their shopping needs.
- Processing Transactions: Accurately scan and process customer purchases, ensuring proper pricing and item codes. Handle various payment methods, including cash, credit cards, and mobile payments.
- Cash Handling: Safely manage cash transactions, provide correct change, and balance your till at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Stock Awareness: Be aware of product promotions and special offers, ensuring customers are informed about discounts and deals.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Keep the cashier area clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies such as receipt paper, bags, and change.
- Customer Returns and Exchanges: Process returns, refunds, and exchanges following company policies.
- Counting of stocks.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with fellow team members and supervisors to ensure smooth store operations and customer satisfaction.
- Compliance: stick to company policies, procedures, and security standards, including handling cash and sensitive data securely.
- Assist in stocking shelve and maintaining inventory when required.
- Bag, box or wrap merchandise for customers and assist in loading into their vehicles if necessary.
Qualifications
- High school, additional customer service training is a plus.
- Previous experience as a cashier or in a retail environment is preferred but not required.
- Basic math skills and ability to handle cash and transactions accurately.
- Strong communication skills and a positive, customer-oriented attitude.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as required.
